Paratransit vehicles provide wheelchair-accessible transportation service to individuals needing special assistance in the City of New York. A paratransit vehicle is a wheelchair-accessible van. A wheelchair-accessible van is a vehicle that is equipped with a hydraulic lift or ramp(s) designed to transport people who use wheel chairs or any other device designed for a person with a disability.
