Podiatrists need a license to practice in New York State. This license comes from the NYS Department of Education (NYSDOE).
Applicants must meet educational and experience requirements and pass an exam. Those who have not passed the exam can get a limited permit. This permit allows someone to practice under the supervision of a licensed podiatrist at a hospital or other facility.
